'orrible 'airy caterpillars

For weeks I'd wondered what had been eating the leaves off a tree in our front yard.  I thought it must have been grasshoppers or something.

This morning I found these around the base of that tree.

Horrible hairy caterpillars....

....and lots of them!!!!

Uuuuurrrrgggghhh!!!  They make my skin crawl.

Little Helper

It's been another busy week here in the Earth Walker house hold.  Our new arrival has provided many distractions from our usual routines.  Amelia has been settling in very well and it feels like she's been here forever.

She's been quite busy, helping Sam feel better when he was unwell this week.

Amelia is also great at helping with homework.

As well as settling the boys down for a rest.

She is really good at training the boys on the lead and getting them out doors.

Now if only I could get her to fold my mountain of laundry that keeps growing!!

I wonder why things just aren't getting done around here.....!!!

Introducing....

"Amelia"

The newest member of the Earth Walker family.

She's our 2 month old Beaglier.

Her mum is a Beagle and her dad a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.

We think she's just lovely.

Time is Marching by

February flew by so quickly and now March is moving on.  I have much catching up to do.  Sunsets, family fun, visits from Donald's family, a Class Captain, soccer trial games starting.  Life is moving at an all time fast pace.  I seem to be keeping up with it all, however my blogging is lagging a bit.  We've had to make some important family decisions lately, like where Sam will go to high school next year.  High school!! Yes it's getting closer to the time when my first born will be leaving primary school.  Where did the time go?? Who would have thought that once all of your children were at school that time would fly and you could be so busy.  I'm craving a day at home with just me, my camera and the Autumn leaves that are just starting to show.  Another family decision is the preparation of a new arrival coming soon!!  Stay tuned!

Kangaroo paws and cats paws

A branch caught my eye early this morning as the sun rose and illuminated a spider web that was woven between it's dried limbs.

Not only did the branch of the old kangaroo paw plant catch my eye, but I caught the eye of our neighbours' cat Trouble.

He visits us every day, leans on our legs rubbing his scent as if we were his.

It's such a delight having a cat that is happy to visit with you and purr a rumbling song and then move along to the next willing neighbour.

I feel like Trouble sometimes, when I see the sun rise.  He sits there and absorbs the suns warming light.  It's like he's charging up his solar panels ready to face the day.  Sitting on the front porch in the early morning light does that for me.

Autumn early morning shadows

What do you see?

I see a funny looking cat shaped face with a wicked grin and a big round nose.
