It was a cool and rainy day yesterday, the best kind of day for baking. Sam & Ethan my big helpers were at school, so Toby my little helper assisted me in baking an Apple Pie. It was so yummy looking and smelled delicious that we couldn't wait until after dinner to eat it. So when the boys came home from school we had apple pie and ice-cream for afternoon tea.

Do you use Ruth's recipe - my Joan tells me that the pastry was todie for.
No this is my Women's Weekly recipe, have you got Ruth's recipe, would love to compare. This one's uses butter and custard powder in it, that gives it that golden look.
mmmmmmmm if I close my eyes I can imagine how good it would smell and taste....
I do have Ruth's recipe - and will send it to you, When we got married Ruth gave me a cookbook with a bunch of her recipes in it - foolishly I used the cookbook instead of copying it or something because now a bunch of the recipes have splatter marks on them.
lisha, that looks almost identical to the one i made at christmas!!! only difference... i cut out snowflakes!
